Paws Up Warning

Had a customer complaint - see below. But what was worse was the almost total lack of interest from the GM in making it good. They're on my 'do not sell' list.


PROS

Good food

Service: friendly/try hard; but not tight

People who ran activities were great, minimal rules

THOUGHTS

Staff poorly trained

Meadow homes great location but old

Timber homes nicer but poorer location

COMPARISON

Doesn’t hold a candle to Amangiri re everything

CONS

Arrival was so bad they had to refund them the first night, north of $3k. The hotel emailed me:

“Upon arrival they had a few issues that included a dirty Kia for them to use, which was quickly replaced for a cleaned car, a very long wait in the restaurant for lunch, followed by slow dinner service and the night ended with an unmade pull out

sofa and no sheets to make the bed. These incidents led our team to refund the first nights stay to try and mitigate the situation”.

Unorganized: too compartmentalized (different dept’s didn’t know what other depts were doing); e.g. airport driver didn’t even know they had a REI type store on property or that you could even buy anything.

Junky outdoor furniture

Painting all peeling

Given filthy car for use on Day 1 and although it was replaced, the original dirty one stayed there the entire time
